PE
At Harmony Primary School we aim to provide inclusive opportunities for all our pupils to experience, enjoy and excel in high quality PE lessons. We recognise the importance of promoting and developing a healthy lifestyle and therefore aim to provide a high-quality, broad, rich and engaging PE curriculum.
Our physical education curriculum is delivered by qualified specialist teachers throughout the school. In Years 1 and 2, pupils improve their agility, balance, co-ordination and ball skills. These are the building blocks for future sports and activities that our pupils participate in. As our pupils move through the years we offer a wide array of sports including, rugby, hockey, athletics and cricket. During our after-school clubs, pupils are able to pursue their passions further in the fields of archery, dodgeball and swimming.
We want to inspire a love of sport in order to raise the level of physical activity of our pupils outside of school. Through our PE provision we aim to develop the skills and attitudes needed for every child to have a lifelong participation in physical activity and healthy living.
It is our aim to embed key values such as teamwork, fairness and respect for themselves and others. We recognise that PE, physical activity and school sport make an extensive contribution towards aspects of pupils’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural development.
