Islamic Studies
We are committed to providing an Islamic Studies curriculum that allows all our pupils to develop their personalities and grow with the knowledge we impart to them. Students are taught from a bespoke curriculum that is delivered in a mindful manner, according to their varying ages, abilities and understandings.
Our Head of Islamic Studies has worked closely with other organisations to develop a scheme of work that motivates, inspires and encourages our children to commit to a lifelong interest in learning, using their Islamic values as a base.
At Harmony Primary School we follow the Sunni methodology. Our Islamic Curriculum is based upon the Ash^ari and Maturidi theology and promotes the four schools of thought, namely the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi^iy and Hanbali madhabs. As a school, we commemorate Islamic occasions such as RamaDaan, ^Eid, Israa’ and Mi^raaj and the birth of Prophet Muhammed sallallaahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
In addition, great care has been taken to draw close links between different subjects. Furthermore, leaders, teachers and support staff are directed to promote active community involvement, as a means to prepare students for a fulfilling life in modern-day Britain.
